The global RAM supply crunch is no longer just a headline it’s now directly impacting modem production. High-performance 5G hardware depends on specific memory configurations, and those parts are becoming harder to source consistently. This means:

Slower manufacturing cycles

Limited batch releases

Higher upstream costs

 

SDX75 Manufacturing Constraints

The SDX75 platform remains in severe production constraint. Qualcomm prioritizes large OEM contracts first. For independent builders and specialty resellers like me, that means:

Slower restocks

Smaller allocation windows

Longer lead times

What this means for SDX85… Likely Pushed to 2027

Many people were hoping the SDX85 would arrive in 2026. Realistically, that’s looking unlikely. Current signals point toward a 2027 release window, which means:

SDX75 remains the flagship option longer than expected

Optimization and firmware maturity become even more important

Hardware tuning and support matter more than “what’s newest”
